Accept Terms

Using a chess engine during a competitive game is cheating, yet they are readily available and used by many.

The developers of this site believe that engines/simulators improve the enjoyment and engagement of the game, and are not harmful to gameplay in the long run (chess engines made high level chess MORE exciting).

However, using this simulator mid-run could be considered cheating. Using this site, you agree not to cheat or simulate fights before they happen in game.

Builds

Rank means nothing other than how often you play. Whats the best build you've ever created? We will show which board you've created with the highest win rate vs the top builds seen.
Currently collecting data, and will show the top builds and users seen on each day. The more people that run the tracker, the more data and accuracy this leaderboard will be.
You are not currently logged in.

If you are logged in, this section will show all your tracked runs.

Download the tracker program here and start tracking your runs!

BazaarPlanner FAQ

( or jump to Game Mechanics FAQ)

  • How do I use BazaarPlanner?
    • You can use the simulator to test out different positioning of items and see how they perform. Press spacebar to open your backpack/stash, to save items for testing.
    • Install BazaarPlannerMod tracker program; can look back at your boards/runs and easily scroll through per day changes to look back on what worked and what didn't.
    • When you share build videos on youtube, or while talking about boards on discord or twitch, you can click 'get tiny url' to get a link to the current state of the boards to share with others.
    • follow exampleWith BazaarPlannerMod installed, you can click 'follow' in the board controls to have your boards automatically track changes in the game, and show a dropdown of all the encounters from your current run.
  • Is this bannable? Has anyone been banned due to this?
Yes and no - first, they can ban you for any reason, so everything is bannable, many people complain about being banned for sneezing in the discord. (depending on your definition of sneezing).

We have protection in place to prevent you from being banned by the game for using this site or tracker program.

According to Tempo Storm, simulating pve fights is a "red line" for them, and against their EULA. (They probably need to update their EULA; as it's written, since bazaarplanner.com does not 'modify the application' it is not in violation.)

The 'display name' can be set to anything you want, and will be used on this site, and if you are running the tracker program, it will even be seen within the game itself. If you are streaming the game even with this protection, and simulating pve fights before doing them in game, they may try to figure out your bazaar account and ban it. None of our users have yet been banned, although the creator has streamed and showcased that you can simulate pve fights before doing them in game, discussed whether this should be considered cheating (he thinks it should), and he did have his account banned. Since then, he has been using the obfuscated display name and you can see him streaming the game on another account which is not banned, though he does not 'cheat' by simulating fights before they happen in game.
  • What is the algorithm for winrate estimation? I tried it on the same board several times and it gives results ranging from 37%~55%. And the sum of two sides is not equal to 100%
The game counts ties as wins. 100 battles are run in the background and the results are how many times each side won or tied. If a tie were garunteed (blank boards), both numbers would show 100% win (or tie) rate.
  • How does searching for items work?
    search example

You can type tag names to find items that have that tag. It will only show items that have every tag you've entered.

  • What is DPS/HPS/SPS?
DPS is damage per second, HPS is healing per second, and SPS is shield per second.
You can pause battle at any time to see the current DPS/HPS/SPS for each board.
  • How do I save my build?
You can save your build by clicking the "Save" button on the bottom board, which saves a json file you can load later. If you're running BazaarPlannerMod, you will find your previous runs in the "Runs" tab and you can load one and then any encounter from it.
  • Can I see other people's builds?
We are collecting data; soon the "Builds" tab will show the top builds seen on each day. You can then load these into the simulator to test any of your own builds against them. You can 'follow' other users, to see changes to their boards live! Follow your favorite streamer or battle your own board against theirs! Try the Challenge feature where your current run will be battled against other users' run, live, and we can keep track of a leaderboard. You'll be able to see a list of users currently online, click follow or challenge. Make sure to update your own displayName in the user settings by clicking the gear icon in the top right. Any challenge must begin while both users are online with a current run in day 1.
  • Why is the url changing?
The url changes whenever you change the boards, skills, or player data. It allows you to share the current state of the boards with others. I recommend clicking "get tiny url" to make a nice short url that you can share on youtube video descriptions, blogs, etc.
  • Where can I get support/report bugs/ask questions?
Strong's discord is the best place to get support. https://discord.gg/8CJwZVj823
  • Why isn't it working on my mobile device?
I have no plans to support mobile devices.

Game Mechanics FAQ

  • I was expecting more uses on item X because it was charged 10 times, but it doesn't seem to have gotten all the charge seconds?
Charge is funny, lets say you have .5s remaining on your cooldown and you trgger to charge it for 1 seconds 2 times. What will happen is the first charge will give it only .5 seconds, the item will trigger on next server tick (or this server tick if it hasn't been evaluated in priority order yet), and then next server tick it will be charged for another second. So depending a bit on RNG of hasting/other charging, you may get less charge on average than you expected. (most likely this is the case for complex boards). A great example of this is a 4s gold yoyo which charges for 3s on adjacent item use. If adjacent items are on the same cooldown (4s), you're only getting 1 yoyo trigger total when they both go off, as a 3s charge is thrown away as the item hadn't triggered yet but still had some small amount of cd remaining. But if you upgrade it to diamond and it charges for 4s, then EVERY adjacent item use will end up triggering a yoyo use. The difference between gold and diamond yoyo is sometimes VERY large. Or sometimes feathering the yoyo to reduce it to a point where it will trigger just before the adjacent item which will also trigger it immediately after is the best play. Understanding the breakpoints is a bit tricky at first, but you get the hang of it.
  • Why don't you have more mechanics faqs yet?
Currently playing last epoch. Will get around to this soon!

About

BazaarPlanner is a simulator for The Bazaar. It started as a way for "Strong" to teach "simply Noah" javascript (our discord names). Any donations will support his ongoing education, and the continued development of this tool. If you've donated at least $1, (and logged in with google or the same email you used to donate) you will not be served google ads.

This project is currently in development. We update about a day after every patch, and most things are currently matching in-game exactly at that time.

Simulator Differences from the Actual Game Engine

If you don't see something mentioned below, please let us know!
  • 1. If items should trigger at the same time, 'priority' from bazaardb.gg is used to determine order. An example of an issue on a single item - Atlas Stone vs Bottled Explosion. One doubles its damage before dealing, and the other deals dmg before doubling. We will have issues with this in some cases, and while we have a priority system that gets it right in some cases, there are others that still need to be fixed.
  • 2. Some enchanted effects are not being parsed/triggering the same they do in game. We've fixed some of these, but still more needing to be fixed.
  • 3. Items like "old saltclaw" with effects like " gain damage when you slow", have an internal cooldown in the game, but the sim gives the dmg immediately. This makes the winrate inaccurate if these items are present.

Coming Soon

  • 1. A game mode where you can challenge another user live, and both play through the game getting points or win/lose based on how the boards you create perform against each other throughout your respective runs.
  • 2. Community items/skills - enable a creator tool for community items/skills which you can test out in the sim and thumbs up/down, and show a ranking of all the items.
Send other ideas and things you might want to see to @Strong on his discord!
